Milan, Italy · Founded 1945
An enduring name in Italian espresso.
FAEMA began in Milan in 1945, when Carlo Ernesto Valente opened a factory to produce coffee machines. The name came from Fabbrica Apparecchiature Elettro Meccaniche e Affini.
The company introduced its first domestic Faemina in 1952. In 1961, the E61 marked a defining moment in its espresso-machine story, pairing technical developments with a distinctive stainless-steel body.
That history places FAEMA at the meeting point of machine engineering, Italian design and the work of the barista. Its equipment story spans professional espresso service and machines created for the home, while the E61 remains a recognizable link to the brand’s earlier years.
